Creating Powerful Connection Through Music & Accessibility w/Shawn Satterfield

Music has the power to connect people in ways that are often unexpected. It can bridge gaps between cultures, generations, and even create a sense of community. Our digital spaces offer that same promise, but only if they're acessible.

In this episode I'm chatting with Shawn Satterfield. She's an inclusion architect, accessibility expert, CEO of Mozaro and founder of the Shine Music Festival. Her passion and purpose is to make the world more accessible for all.

Shawn has been to music festivals all over the world, and everywhere she travels, she's noticed a common denominator—the ability of music to create a collective community. People can bond over their shared musical tastes, and this connection is often stronger than a simple “hello”.

In this episode, Shawn draws the parallel between music and our digital spaces, and how both have  the power to bring people together, but only if they're accessible.

She shares what drove her to create the world's first totally accessible music festival and we explore the question: what would it take to make the world a more connected and possible place for everyone.
